| projects & activities Circus Skills Workshops The South Asia Children’s Fund had worked closely with Steve Groh, a dynamic leader in the field of experiential education, to develop circus skills workshops for children in Nepal. To date workshops have been held at Shree Mangal Dvip School in Kathmandu, and in the town of Bandipur. Steve Groh uses circus as the vehicle to help children, especially those from the margins of society, to gain confidence, to work as a team with other children, and to improve their agility and physical conditioning. For many years Steve Groh has worked with street children in Bangkok, and is loved and respected by all the children who participate in his projects. In May 2007 the South Asia Children’s Fund organized and funded a 15-day circus skills workshop at the Bandipur Campus for 20 girls and boys. In October 2007 the South Asia Children’s Fund organized and funded a 12-day circus skills workshop at Notre Dame School in Bandipur. In addition, Steve Groh has conducted three circus skills workshops for the children at Shree Mangal Dvip School, all of whom are of Tibetan origin. |
